Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is this German level test?

It's a quick estimate from 12 questions that get harder when you're right and easier when you're wrong. It's not an official certificate. For that you need an exam such as the Goethe-Zertifikat, telc or ÖSD.

What do the levels A1 to C2 mean?

They're the six levels of the Common European Framework (CEFR): A1 and A2 are beginner, B1 and B2 intermediate, C1 and C2 advanced. Most learners need a few hundred hours of German for each step up.
